Front Office Manager

Sanibel, FL

The Sundial Beach Resort & Spa located on Sanibel Island, is seeking a dynamic Front Office Manager.  The Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all Front Desk, PBX and Bell staff operations to ensure profitability, control costs and maintain quality service standards ensuring total guest satisfaction.  

Essential Functions:

  • Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards and meeting the expectations of the guests are met
  • Maintain established company policies and processes related to guest service techniques, proper identification and payments, etc.
  • Review current day’s expected arrivals and VIP and special request reservations. Check the status of departures and ensure proper processing occurs.
  • Handle and respond to guest concerns and request in a timely manner. Ensure the accuracy and attainment of all guests’ interaction logs such as guests’ complaints, requests, etc. for excellent quality control.
  • Maintain positive team member relations to include coaching, counseling, and on-going training and development.
  • Demonstrates and promotes a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and assets in compliance with workplace policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Drives guest satisfaction by setting a positive example. Creates and delivers ongoing training and development for the Front office.
  • Manages the guest feedback process ensuring that guests have been responded to in a timely manner.
  • Supervises department staffing including hiring/termination recommendations, planning / coordinating activities, training, advising, consulting, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that the department functions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Oversees staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.
  • Interfaces with the Housekeeping Department, communicating changes and updating guest needs, ie., room moves, early departures, etc. Works with Housekeeping Management to manage daily processes to ensure appropriate arrival readiness, VIP rooms, etc.
  • Anticipate needs for daily activity-large departure/arrivals, etc.
  • Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2-3 years’ Rooms Management experience at Hotel/Resort.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Effective conflict management and decision-making is required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Opera preferred
