Recreation & Court Sports Assistant Manager
The Recreation & Court Sports Assistant Manager is responsible for the management of the Recreation and Court Sports Department, in accordance with resort standards. Maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. This role is also responsible for all aspects of the pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep, cleanliness, and the day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions:
- Monitors quality, standards and meets the expectations of the guests daily.
- Assist with creating and coordinating activities calendar for resort guests on a timely manner.
- Keep all activity areas and equipment clean and maintained.
- Maintaining a monthly inventory of all materials, bicycles, watercraft and accessories. Ensuring that all equipment is in working order daily.
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Creating and maintaining weekly recreation schedule
- Assisting in the planning and execution of special events with sales department or resort clients
- Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department.
- Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensures team members have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
- Manages pool, beach, and court sports areas, including overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness, and the operation of cabanas, management of towel card program.
- Assist with pickleball and tennis events and teams
- Reserving court time and booking lessons and clinics for tennis pro and Pickleball pro
- Manage ordering, maintaining stock and inventory of all retail items. Ensure supplies are available according to resort occupancy levels.
- Maintain top notch condition of pickleball and tennis courts and all equipment.
- Interact regularly with all tennis and pickleball members.
- Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, provides guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
- Communicates expectations and performance objectives to team members.
- Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or otherwise helps others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Adherence to all safety rules and regulations
- Compliance with all resort policies and procedures and described and communicated by management.
- Available for work assignments outside of associate’s customary work schedule. This may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2-3 years previous recreation experience
- Previous Supervisory experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be good with children
- Must be able to swim
- CPR certified preferred
- Some retail experience preferred
